Thanks
to PC technology, one person can play
several music instruments at the same time. The multi-track recording
software
(such as Adobe Audition 2.0) allows a single player to record multiple
parts so
that a duet or trio or ensemble can be performed by one person.
I
used my
favorite harmonicas to experiment with
this idea. The harmonica has been my favorite
musical instruments throughout my life. When I was in high school, I
was
a member of the Korean Harmonica Band. But since I came to the US, I
could not find
any opportunities to play the harmonica in a group. This experiment
allows me to play many different harmonicas as if I am in a harmonica
band.
The harmonicas I used for this experiment include Hohner's
Chromatic and Diatonic Harmonicas, Suzuki's Alto Single and Chord
Harmonicas and a few Double Reed (Tremolo)
Harmonicas.
The music samples are selected from various classical musics and spiritual songs that may be suitable for young students who would like to learn the harmonica. I hope the samples presented here will inspire people to explore the World of Harmonica! Kyong Hwa Lee
